Some friends and I are looking to go camping this summer in the mountains. We live in central New Jersey so anything within a 4 hour radius is ideal. Originally I was looking into the Catskills, Poconos, etc. But I was mainly finding just vacation homes in towns and stuff. We're looking more along the lines of camping up in the mountains away from everything. We'd like a lake or other body of water, spectacular views (great views is pretty much a must haha) hiking, etc.
Last years camping excursion had a lot of rain so we decided on a cabin or a house.
If anyone has any ideas of great mountain cabin camping in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Maryland I would really appreciate it.
