Resolved Question: advice on buying a TENT?

so i just signed up for the duke of edinburgh awards at my school and we will be going on camping trips, im very excited because iv all ways wanted to go camping but iv never been before.
im guessing we have to buy are own tents which worry me a little because they are quite expensive and i don't think i will need to use it anymore after getting the award.

so where can i find a cheap single or two man tent? i prefer to buy a dome shaped one, is this a good idea? and i want to be able to put it up easily
